A Virtual Infertility Intensive Program
Powered by Coastal Counseling Associates
Like an oyster transforms irritation into a pearl, healing can emerge from life's most difficult seasons.
A New Approach to Infertility Support
Infertility changes everything.
It can consume your thoughts, strain your relationships, challenge your sense of self, and leave you feeling isolated in a world that seems to move forward while you're waiting.
At Saltwater Roots, we believe you deserve more than just getting through it.
Saltwater Roots was created to provide a level of therapeutic support that has long been missing from traditional mental health services for individuals navigating infertility. Through therapist-led group therapy, expressive arts, nervous system-informed care, and meaningful connection with others who truly understand, our virtual intensive offers a compassionate space to process your journey, build resilience, and find hope—one step at a time.
Saltwater Roots was created to meet you right there.
You don't have to navigate the family building journey waters alone.
Saltwater Roots is a therapist-led virtual intensive designed specifically for individuals navigating:
IVF
IUI
Medication cycles
Egg retrievals
Embryo transfers
Pregnancy loss
Stillbirth
Recurrent pregnancy loss
Secondary infertility
Unexplained infertility
Male factor infertility
Donor sperm, donor egg, or embryo donation
Gestational surrogacy
LGBTQ+ family building
Deciding what comes next
Anxiety, grief, identity changes, and the emotional impact of infertility
You'll join a small group of people who understand this journey—not because they read about it, but because they're living it too. Whether your path to parenthood looks like IVF, donor conception, surrogacy, or another route entirely, you'll find a compassionate community where your story is welcomed, respected, and understood.
-
Saltwater Roots is designed for adults navigating infertility, fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, or other family-building challenges. Whether you're pursuing IVF, IUI, donor conception, surrogacy, or another path to parenthood, you'll find a supportive, therapist-led space focused on emotional healing and connection.
-
No. While many participants are actively pursuing treatment, others may be taking a break, grieving a loss, considering next steps, or adjusting to life after infertility. A 10 minute consult call will help determine whether the program is the right fit for your current needs.
-
No. Saltwater Roots is a structured, therapist-led therapeutic intensive. While peer connection is an important part of the experience, sessions are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals and expressive arts therapists and integrate group psychotherapy, expressive arts, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and other therapeutic interventions.
-
Because the program is designed as a cohesive therapeutic experience, participants are encouraged to attend all scheduled sessions whenever possible. If you anticipate frequent scheduling conflicts, we recommend waiting for a future cohort.
-
Saltwater Roots is a private-pay, boutique program. Out-of-network superbills for eligible clinical services are provided, and some participants may be eligible for reimbursement depending on their insurance plan. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier regarding your out-of-network benefits.
-
Absolutely! We recommend it. Many participants continue working with their individual therapist while attending Saltwater Roots. With your written permission, we can coordinate care when appropriate.
-
Saltwater Roots welcomes individuals of all genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and family-building paths. We are committed to providing an affirming, inclusive space where every participant's story is respected and supported.
Why an intensive?
Infertility isn't something you think about once a week.
It weaves itself into every part of your life—appointments, medications, waiting, difficult decisions, unexpected phone calls, and the emotional highs and lows that can change from one day to the next.
Sometimes, weekly therapy simply isn't enough.
Saltwater Roots was created to provide a more consistent level of support during one of life's most emotionally demanding journeys. Through therapist-led group therapy, expressive arts, nervous system regulation, and meaningful connection, you'll have a dedicated space to process your experiences with others who truly understand.
Program Assessment
Every participant begins with a 45-minute individual Program Assessment with a licensed clinician before joining a Saltwater Roots cohort.
This one-on-one assessment allows us to:
Learn about your fertility and family-building journey
Understand your current challenges and goals
Determine whether Saltwater Roots is the best fit for your needs
Answer your questions about the program
Provide personalized recommendations and referrals when appropriate
Because Saltwater Roots is a small, therapist-led intensive, we thoughtfully screen each participant to help create a safe, supportive, and clinically appropriate group experience.
Program Assessment Fee: $250
If you are accepted into the program and choose to enroll, your $250 Program Assessment fee will be applied toward your Saltwater Roots program tuition.
If we determine that Saltwater Roots isn't the right fit for your needs, you'll leave with individualized recommendations and referrals to help connect you with the most appropriate level of care and support.
