FAQs

  • Over the course of 3 days, your child will receive 9 hours of therapeutic support from our dedicated clinicians, blending expressive arts, mindfulness, and social-emotional skill building in a nurturing and fun environment. Our program uses a specialized therapeutic and expressive arts approach, ensuring every activity supports emotional growth and resilience.

We know that traditional camps can feel overwhelming for kids who thrive with more individualized structure and support. That’s why our mini-camp provides personalized 1:1 attention in addition to group activities, with a maximum of 6 campers to ensure a safe, supportive, and empowering experience.

  • No. Though we specialize in providing services for those with anxiety, ADHD, trichotillomania, OCD, autism, and depression, any child is welcome to come to camp that could benefit from a more therapeutic approach.

If your child has any specific sensory, emotional, or behavioral needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out before camp begins. Our team is here to help them feel safe, understood, and supported.

  • No! Any child ages 6-11 is welcome.

  • Our camp adopts a play-based, expressive arts based curriculum. Operated by a licensed mental health counselor and dance movement therapist, activities will include self-esteem building, mindfulness, social skills, expressive arts therapy, and nature-based therapy. • To help your child have the best possible experience, please make sure they arrive each day with the following:

    • A reusable water bottle clearly labeled with your child’s name

      • A jacket and change of clothes as we will be outside everyday

      • A towel or small yoga mat for yoga and movement

      • A bag or backpack so we can send home their art and supplies

      • Optional snack if your child is a picky eater or has sensory sensitivities
(Note: We provide all snacks and water daily and are mindful of all food allergies.)

      • Epipen (clearly labeled with your child's name) if you noted your child has food allergies on our camper registration form.

      • Please dress your child in comfortable clothes that can get messy—we’ll be painting, moving, and playing outside each day!

      • Please note the director and owner of Coastal Counseling Associates is certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in our care and will be on site at all times.

  • Our Spring Break Therapeutic Mini-Camp is a shorter, 3-day program (9 hours total) designed as a focused “booster” experience during the school year. While the summer camp runs for a full week (15 hours) and offers more time for in-depth exploration, the spring mini-camp provides a condensed, intensive opportunity for children to refresh coping strategies, practice social-emotional skills, and receive individualized support in a small group.

Both programs share the same therapeutic foundation—expressive arts, mindfulness, and personalized attention with a 6-child maximum—but the spring camp is tailored to fit into a school vacation week while still delivering meaningful growth and connection.

  • My 7 year old is on the autism spectrum and has never been able to attend a traditional summer camp. The sensory overload, lack of structure, and large groups of kids just don’t work for him. But Alyssa and her team created something completely different.. a space where every single detail was so intentional and the group was 6 kids. From the schedule of the day, to the activities, to the calm and supportive environment, I could tell nothing was left to chance. We drove over an hour to therapeutic camp and it was so worth it. My son came home every day happy and excited to tell me about what he did. The fact that his camp certificate is now hanging above his bed says it all, he felt proud, included, and seen. This camp wasn’t just a week of activities, it was a week of belonging for him. I can't thank you enough Alyssa. We will be back next year!

  • My child had the best week at camp! He was nervous about going but the environment was so supportive, that changed very quickly. So much progress was made and so much was learned in a short time. I can’t recommend camp or all of Alyssa’s services enough!

  • My daughter loved camp and they squeezed so many thoughtful activities into a short period of time. I loved seeing what she made, especially the expressive art! I learned a lot about her this week and what's on her mind and we'd definitely do camp again!

  • My child is older and has been bullied a lot, so finding a safe and supportive place was really important to us. This camp provided just that, a welcoming environment where my child felt comfortable and accepted. The leaders gave each camper a kindness passport to collect kind notes and positive stickers throughout the week, which helped my child feel seen and supported. They also received a personalized bag tag with their name on it, making them feel special and part of the group. I noticed a real positive change in my child’s confidence and sense of belonging. I highly recommend this camp for any parent looking for a healing and safe space for their child. We can't wait for next year!
